1:1 ABA Therapy
What is it?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a systematic, data-based approach that focuses on teaching new skills in small, teachable steps while considering the environment and activities that are motivating for the learner. This allows important skills to be taught in a fun way, while also ensuring meaningful progress is made. The goal of ABA is to help each individual reach their fullest potential, leading to an independent, fulfilling life.
Some skills that ABA can assist with are:
Communication and language
Play skills
Social Skills
Behavioral challenges
School readiness
Safety Skills
Daily living skills and more!
How My Approach is Different
The most common service model of ABA therapy relies primarily on services delivered by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) under the guidance and supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). At Discover, all services are provided directly by a BCBA to ensure accelerated progress and the highest quality of care for children ages from 1-8 years old. Services are influenced by Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) practices and materials and will be provided primarily in the home, but can also be provided in the community.

Caregiver Coaching
What is it?
Caregiver coaching is 1:1 time with the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) during which tools and strategies on how to best support your child are provided and practiced. This may be helpful if your child is already receiving ABA therapy, but you need more tools and support in the home or if you have a particular area that has been difficult in your child’s day to day life.
Areas of focus during caregiver coaching include:
Assisting communication development
Teaching your child during play
Supporting your child during daily living activities
Improving daily routines
Supporting your child during challenging behavior
Potty training and more!
The Process
After completing the form below, a complimentary 30-minute consultation will be completed to determine what areas of support are needed and if in-home, community-based, or virtual caregiver coaching would be most beneficial. Caregiver coaching is typically recommended for at least 1-hour per week with the BCBA and is influenced by Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) practices and materials.

The BCBA will help prepare your child step-by-step in order to increase the likelihood of successful completion of the appointment or procedure.
Appointment preparation assistance may be helpful for:

The Process
